My grandfather is withering away
Has been for the last 5 years
He can barely walk,
Has bruises covering his body
This week, from what I’m told, he didn’t shower for a week and a half
And pissed and shit himself in his adult diaper
My grandmother insists on caring for him
Their house is a mess
And we clean it for them
The house was 80 degrees inside at 9:30pm
My brother and I helped him to his chair
After my mom attempted to bathe him
We picked him up off the bathroom floor
It started to rain after we went home
My mom said she doesn’t want
to stay in this fucking town another 10 years
