Morgathian Clerical Spells of ODnD Hârn

Working my way now through the Clerical invocations of HârnWorld.

I've started with essentially the Chaotic Anti-Clerics of Morgath.

All are sourced from HârnMaster Religion.

Note: Details the Hârn Hack

Morgath

Gulmorvin = Unfree undead

Amorvrin = Free undead

Speak with Dead

The caster can communicate with one type of undead or recently departed soul for Duration.

The soul or amorvrin may initiate mental conflict.

Heart of Darkness

The invoker curses an opponent. If they are slain by the Cleric, they arise as a Gulmorvin under the thrall of the invoker.

If the invoker curses themself and later is slain, they arise as a Wight

Necrosy

Permits the invoker to preserve a corpse at its current state of decomposition for Duration.

Cloak of Kylss

The caster or another creature or object within range becomes invisible:

Eyes of Kylss

The invoker conjures a black orb that hovers where created for Duration. The Sphere may move anywhere in range. The orb has a pair of glowing red eyes, which grant the invoker a telepathic vision of what the eyes can see. The orb is tangible and cannot pass through solid barriers. Eyes of Kylss have infravision at 60’ but are blind in daylight. The orb disappears with a hit from a blunt weapon or by the invoker’s choice.

Klyss’ Command

As Command Undead with a +1 modifier

Throat of Kylss

Affects a cone 6″ long & 3″ wide; those within must save vs. spells or be panicked.

At 5th level, a invovker can shriek (once per day), which necessitates a saving throw versus death or the hearer will die in 2d6 rounds.

Myrvia’s Kiss

Myvria’s offer to become a Free Undead. This ritual is taught only to Morgathian priests who reach level 4 or higher.  If accepted, the Priest will rise as a Spectre of equal HD to the player who died.

Resting Place

Places the Mage’s soul in a nearby inanimate receptacle wherefrom the caster may attempt to possess another creature within 12″, which may resist with a save vs. spells. If a possessed body dies (or the caster tires of it), the caster’s soul returns to the receptacle & further possessions may be attempted. If the caster’s original body is destroyed, their soul is stuck using the receptacle or a possessed body, & if the receptacle is destroyed, the caster ceases to exist.

Sacrifice

A death-ray instantly kills any creature failing a save vs. spells.
