Summary
The First of Yellowmonth. The Annual Martial Sung Poothers Yellowmonth Sale.
Monterey returns from speaking to Anda Vene, the chief of the Great Plateaulet clan of Redwine Hills, who seeks investors and accomplices for a “hostile takeover” of a Rust EastCountry Vinter Lord, Syr Goira Kujina of Grace Abounds, to speak of the market opportunity to Brother Lump.
Brother Lump inquires about the price (1,800d) and agrees to meet this chief downstairs in the lobby of da Pastafari Automotel. As the two head downstairs, their neighbor from across the hallway awakens, sensing an opportunity to increase abundance during the most auspicious time of the Annual Martial Pung Soothers Yellowmonth Sale (AMSPYMS).
The figure introduce themselves as Lupin. Their filthy purple robes commented on by Monterey, whose social graces need much refinement. After a quick shower, payment was offered, but rebuffed by Brother Lump. The group heads downstairs.
There, the group finds a familiar face, Briel, who is too poor to afford the bugmeal continental breakfast. Brother Lump again seeing market opportunity and fronts the 1d price tag for the meal. With the group fed, they arrive at the conference room where Anda Vene is giving their sales pitch to potential investors.
A market opportunity to invest in prime Rust EastCountry land, get a cut of bloodwine sales, and support local business. Being a redlander, Monterey acts as a translator and speaks on the group's behalf.
They learn that Anda Vene has DWARF backing in the form of weapons and munitions. They just need Diamante 1099 delivery drivers to deliver 90lbs of cat coffee purchased by the Vinter Lord Syr Goira Kujina for an upcoming birthday of another Vinter Lord, Nomoä the Old, the tricentenarian, of Sunset Revelation.
Being Dimante 1099 employees, the group takes the job with the idea of pocketing the 1,800 dollars after the sale for personal gain while also supporting Vene’s schemes. However, the group has to first head to the cat coffee plantation and pick up the goods from an individual named Migo the Dark.
The group is told this coffee farm is located somewhere east of the Blonde City. They leave By Its Fruit, Monterey leaving his redland bolter buried near the foot of the Heights of Termerity, avoiding the Gun Breakers of the town as they pass over the bridge on the road southward.
As their caravan of ponies and struthios (cuttle-fish & ostrich-like creatures) continues along the round, to the west, Frutilla sees an 80’ tall tower. From it, a thick plume of smoke drifts across the coral savannah, smelling of sandalwood.
The group heads there west, interested in it. They find a hexagonal stone tower etched with images of centaur-like creatures and horses. Frutilla identifies the structure as dating from the Forgotten Ur-Rococo Movement. Some 19,000 years ago. Truly ancient.
From it emerge two, yellow robed mohawk-adorned monks. Sunbeaten and leather. They call out in an archaic language, Canopic. Lupin is able to understand and translate.
This is the House of the Horse Lord, the Do Stapanul Cailor. The two monks introduce themselves as Tesana i’Novi & Desena i’Creati. They ask the group if they’ve come to offer a sacrifice to the Horse Lord. The group says they are not and asks if they are interested in goods, like their fungus shingles. Monterey asks if they have any purple haze.
The two monks balk at the idea, saying there is no need for such civilized debauchery here and they do not seek to insert themselves within the corrupt “pyramidal structures of the Yellow Land”. The two zealots suggested they leave before angering the Horse Lord and offending the Verdigris Horse Tribes of the west.
The group decides to leave, better to leave these two to their own devices, having already sought absolution from the Yellow God at the Heights of Termerity. The group heads back to the road south. By lunch, the encounter a 7’ tall plastoid human with Good Looks upgrade. The figure is accompanied by a crab-spider-like slurry that drags a cart of goods northward.
Pleasantries are exchanged (business cards traded) between Brother Lump and one Mirodar Reumeni, a sales representative of Soilborn Soul Systems. There is some polite small talk about how the AMSPYMS is going. After the exchange, Reumeni offers his wares: some bio-cactus-like armor with a whip-like attachment, wolfwillow sticks (a protein-rich slim jim food), and even a piece of OldTech.
There is some heavy barter that nearly turns sour as Reumeni pokes fun at Lump’s poor business cards, saying they should head to Pardon Market and get some voting parasites installed to take advantage of the discounts. Lupin grabs some dirty, reading themselves to throw it in the figure's face if need be.
However, Brother Lump can offer his Second Brain in exchange for the Oldtech Tablet after a demonstration and explanation of its abilities. With the Invisible Hand of the Yellow God satisfied during AMSPYMS over an equitable trade, the two parties head their separate ways.
By evening, the group finds a town that advertises itself as Pardon Market, Home of Diamante Fulfillment Center #12. Allow the western edge of the road, and the ruins of a monorail system can be seen. However, the southward rail system is still intact and used to offload goods and people from the Blond City.
As the group enters Pardon Market, the scanning beams identify them as Diamante 1099 workers. A viso-screen appears with their manager, Poisson Albada, who wants a status report on how sales are going during AMPSYMS and inquires as to the new name on the initial loan.

The group speaks of being attacked by the Carukia, the death of the Stranger, vomes, and more. Albada is disappointed. Brother Lump says that they have a delivery of cat coffee to put some pressure off of them. Albada, while interested, is a bit cagey, as the group isn’t being very forthcoming with details. Albada offers another job.
A recent shipment of Yellowland saffron (3,000d/slot (4 slots) or 591 Diamante Credits) needs to be offloaded to a client. A Davor i’Profunt, a Greelander noble, who seeks more than what the Cogflower Church and the Joy Good Dispensary allots. I'Profunt apparently lives near Dawnpeater in the Fartherwood. However, one has to go through have to go through the Orangeland, a somewhat dangerous, albeit high-paying job.
Briel chimes in, asking whats the percentage commission, to which Albada says 15%. Briel balks at this, and after an intense exchange, Albada intimates that the full weight of Diamante can come crashing down on the group, and if need be, he can simply write their deaths off as a line item in an expense report and sell their bodies as Citizens Undead to an Orangeland Noble. Brother Lump steps in and calms both sides down with more information regarding the cat coffee delivery.
With that, the group is allowed entry into Pardon Market. Monterey immediately begins asking local plastic people, and DWARFs were purple haze can be found, and soon enough, the young Redlander finds himself 20d lighter. Brother Lump snatches the drug from Monterey, and the group finds another place to stay, de Giallo Automotel, operated by the daemon Rosa Prima. The group pays for two rooms, the bath and hot water DLC, and the amuse cube continental breakfast.
The 2nd of Yellowmonth
In the early morning, the group heads to the Voidlane Monorail and finds the coffee trading area of the market. Fascinated by the coffee varieties; maine coon, shorthair, sphinx, et al. The group finds Migo the Dark’s plantation can be found eastward, and the group spends the early morning traveling, eventually arriving by early noon.
Upon arriving, they witness a sprawling estate tended by zombie-workers and Yellowlander gig workers alike. They are buzzed into the manse itself and find a strong, ox-like man and a black cat sitting upon the porch.
They are greeted, and Monterey finds himself psychically speaking to Migo the Dark, the black cat, who asks them various questions about Monterey’s pets, as Brother Lump and the group speak to Jor leu-Gro, the man.
Eventually, Migo gets annoyed with Monterey’s childish antics and psychically speaks to Briel, whose more deferential demeanor entertains Migo’s ego. Offerings of refreshments like filtered water, ice cold felixx whiz, and tins of chunks and gravy are brought out. Migo was worried about the shipment, given a one-day delay due in part to AMSPYMS.
Monterey downs the energy drink and so finds himself tired, pissy, and unfocused, eventually passing out upon the porch steps, much to the dismay of Migo and the group.
The zombie workers load up the caravan while Migo offers them to stay for dinner, in a rather annoyed voice. However, the group picks up the subtle hint and thanks Migo for his time, finally destined to head further eastward to the manse of the Vinter Lord Syr Goira Kujina of Grace Abounds. Briel, strong as an ox, hefts the still sleeping Monterey into the pony-drawn cart as the group bounds east.

Notes
- The group continues to luck out on encounter rolls, and it will be interesting to see what happens once violence does arrive
- Slowly, but surely, the world is taking shape, and its interior logics become more apparent. I enjoy the anti-canon nature of UVG.
- The Feats of Exploration by 3d6 DTL continues to prove useful as a tool to allow advancement in more social and exploratory OSR-style games, rather than the dungeon delve, loot-getting play loop. Keep it as a handy tool if need be. I’ve gotten more use out of it as a modeling framework.
