CHARACTER CREATION
- 3d6 DTL. Saving Throw (ST) and Health Points (HP) are determined as outlined
- STR, DEX, WIS
- ST = AVG 3 STATS (ROUND DOWN)
- HP = STR + 5
- STR, DEX, WIS
- Humans only
- Roll for either
- An additional weapon - 2 weapons
- Opt for shield - 8AC. Shields can be sundered to negate the damage of 1 non-magical attack
- d6 roll. An even number is a melee weapon, an odd number is a ranged weapon
- Weapon is further rolled on the Chainmail Man-to-Man Combat Table
- 1d12 for a melee weapon. 1d6 for ranged.
- Weapon is further rolled on the Chainmail Man-to-Man Combat Table
- Characters start at 9AC with 3d6 shillings, three torches, three rations, a water-skin, and a memento (it can’t be magical)
- Treat monster stat blocks as given
ALTERNATIVE COMBAT

- Movement, then everything else (magic, missile, melee)
- To hit procedures, refer to Chainmail's Man-to-Man Combat Table
- All weapons do d6 dmg
- All offensive spells do d6 dmg + caster level (d6+HD)

ENEMY LOOT & TREASURE
The standard economy operates in shillings (represented by the d symbol and expressed as 12d - 12 shillings).
A lower denomination exists as farthings (represented by the f symbol and expressed as 1f - 1 farthing).
4 farthings equal 1 shilling.
Ex: 29d & 3f = 29 shillings and 3 farthings
Enemy and loot, and treasure come in four sizes. Small. Middling. Large. Vast.
- Small: 3d20 farthings, 2d6 shillings, poor quality gear, and junk
- Middling: 3d6 shillings, adventuring gear, mundane or trade goods.
- Large: 3d20 shillings, weapons, d3 potions, fine wine or foods, a spell scroll or wand
- Vast: 3d20 x 10 shillings, magic items, armor, gems or artwork, a grimoire
