Summary
The Month of Star. The Fifth Fair of the Eighth Week
The group leaves the Fae Kingdom behind in their bumblebee carriage as it begins to sleet.

The Month of Star. The Sixth Fair of the Eighth Week
The carriage makes its way across the shoreline. Out upon the lake, a half-submerged log sits. Bees buzz around it and through it, carrying strange pearls made of pollen taken from lily pads.
The still rose-wine drunk Cornelius attempts to escape the carriage, wanting to be with Lady Twiggler, his beloved.
Crocus misses Cornelius, but Cherry manages to catch him by the footpad before he falls out of the carriage. Meanwhile, the bumblebees want to join their cousins by the log, pulling the carriage into Heartache Lake, forcing the adventurers to scamper to the roof of the carriage as it takes on water.
Crocus and Dill manage to make it to shore, but Jack, Cherry, and Cornelius plunge into the frigid waters of the Lake, absorbing the heartbreak of Prince Sylvester. The three manage to make it to a lily pad and find it full of pollen pearls and the crystal clear water untouched by Prince Sylvester’s sadness. The group jumped from pad to pad, finally making it to shore to rejoin Crocus and Dill, soaking wet and in a deep depression.
The group made a simple camp and fire in hopes to dry off their clothes, as they rested overnight.
The Month of Star. The First Fair of the Ninth Week
The group spent much of the day traveling along the shoreline ‘neath overcast sky. Cherry and Jack were still heartbroken as the group trundled along, clothes damp from yesterday’s events. Their tears fell and rolled into the Lake itself.
Finding the dew-dappled grasses of the Fae Kingdom turned brown, then exposed shale rocks along the shore. As night fell, they built a simple dry-stone hut to keep out the winter chill.
In the dead of night, Cherry feels something hit her face- a lightning bug and hears the titter of a laughing child. She follows the sound to meet a wild fairy boy, rosy cheeks covered in dirt. Tunic made of leaves.

The fae is named Nettle, having been told by his mother to run away from home and dangerous adults. Nettle has been hiding in the cattails, avoiding all adults and playing pranks on the Merfolk, stealing a fish idol. The group asks him about a woman, but Nettle only knows of Abernathy the Snapping Turtle.
Nettle pranks Crocus, lighting his purple suit on fire. Crocus bops Nettle, knocking him out as Jack and Cherry spring to his rescue. Their hearts mend as their bond grows stronger with the lost fae child.
The Month of Star. The Second Fair of the Ninth Week

The group foraged, finding roots, corn cobs, and carrots to supply themselves as their rations were running low.
As they began in earnest to gather materials to build a raft to sail across Heartache Lake, the smell of rotten fruit and spoiled milk carried upon the air. From the branch of a tree, a female fae watched intently as Cherry called out hello.
A sudden rush of wind nearly blew the adventurers over; a tug was felt at Jack’s waist as he discovered his Tablet of Darkness was missing, see the female fae appear behind them with it in her hand. She called out that it’s hers now and flew away
The Stinkwizard must wait! Jack said as they gathered a lily pad, small logs for pontoons, a leaf for a sail, and sticks for paddles, as the group launched the SS Depression into the shimmering and frigid waters of Heartache Lake, sailing towards Abernathy the Snapping Turtle’s lair looking for answers.

Notes
- Another session of the group bouncing around the environs of Heartache Lake and accepting more quests.
- The appearance of both Nettle and the Nixie was intriguing and serendipitous, but the group didn’t pick up the name “Nettle” (being the rightful lost heir of the throne) nor the smell inversion of “rotten fruit & curdled milk” of “apricot and milk” of the Nixie.
- They did enjoy the sensory descriptions, however
- Need to figure out Mausritter boat travel hexes (6 hexes for Tiny Fables seems appropriate)
