Summary
Aftermath
The Month of Star. The Second Fair of the Eighth Week
The stinking, scary mound and the Crocus being catatonic force the group to head back to Thimblewood after foraging through the sleet.
On their way back, they see another giant skeleton, and the smell of algae permeates the forest
The Month of Star. The Third Fair of the Eighth Week
Note: Attack on Giuseppe’s woodshop by merfolk happened three days ago in game.1
The group arrives in the early morning and is tended to by Horace and Mabel of the Squeky Stein (which has become even more dilapidated since they last saw the two proprietors)
The group falls asleep in their potato, mushroom, and leek soup and are carted off to bed to recover from their wounds and conditions.
The Month of Star. The Fourth Fair of the Eighth Week
Cherry and the group are awakened to the smell of smoke and see that the building next to them.
Remington tells them he heard the townspeople attempt to help, but couldn’t see what was happening as his frame was turned the other way
Giuseppe’s wood shop has been looted and burned down. The group slept through the event!
Giuseppe tells that walking fish raided the place and took his wood and tools, leaving him with nothing! The villagers of Thimblewood say this is another ill omen!
The group looks around for Lyle, and finds that he has disappeared during their sleep!
The group follows the following the “finprints”, reaching the Crabapple Orchard in the evening
The Month of Star. The Fifth Fair of the Eighth Week
Note: Third Winter Cotillion occurs. (theme: Tip-of-the-Hat)
They pass through the Orchard unharmed and finally reach Heartache Lake. It spans vast and wide, so they head southward along the banks, eventually seeing in the distance structures made of driftwood and shell. As they get close, they can see a ship in the process of being built.

They are accosted by four fishfolk with crude spears who gabble at them. Cherry speaks with them, gabbling as well, much to the surprise of the group (and even herself!)
The fishfolk are building a pirate ship to attack the Fae Prince because they poisoned the Lake in some unknown manner, forcing the Fishfolk to move on land. The group asks for Giuseppe’s tool back, and the Fishfolk decline because it's ours now!
Cherry says the lake’s water is hers as the Fishfolk advise against that. She drinks the ice-cold water, feeling a wave of sadness rush over her and then subside just as fast.
More Fishfolk arrive and seize her and surround the group. The group offers up Remington, saying he can get them to the Fae Prince. Remington protests, but is unable to do anything as the Fishfolk take him.
A leader, a Fishfolk adorned in “traditional pirate wear” ala like Peter Pan’s Captain Hook, tells them they are in no position to offer demands, but are of no threat to them. They can leave, but if they attempt to interfere with their plans again, then their “fins will be forced to take action” against them.
The group is escorted out, and the group plans to talk to the Fae Soldier patrol in Crabapple Orchard for a classic “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” play.

Notes
- The group finally decides to “lock in”, writing down all their quests, which total seven+
- This group is more low-key, often driven by whim and flight of fancy rather than “playing hard”. A player commented, “this is the most ADHD group I play with,” which seemed to invigorate the rest to buckle down and focus.
- Because of this, the faction events continually pile up, leaving them on the perpetual back foot, as for the past eight sessions they’ve just bounced around with no real orienting mission.
- I attempted to help by assisting in “chunking out” the areas/groupings of missions in terms of proximity and relation.
- The group did display some low cunning to decide to tell the Fae Patrol about the Fishfolk’s plans given their past track record. Let’s see if this starts to kick things in gear for them as a group.
- Again, the traditional playloop of XP for treasure in MR doesn’t seem to align with how the group is playing and how Tiny Fables is structured. Yes, there are a few tentpole dungeons with treasure, or many treasure/xp missions within the module boil down to doing paid fetch quests for Thimblewood villagers, which the group hasn’t latched onto during their times in the village.
- They’ve been using Thimblewood more as a home base than a place to gather missions. This is likely my fault; I could have made Giuseppe offer 1000p to find something out regarding his tool, etc
- I’ll try to be cognizant of this type of mission moving forward.

I just had Giuseppe's woodshop burn down in the night here for more drama!↩
