Why Did You Take Up Arms?
Lawful
- The weapon was the only inheritance left to me
- To answer the insult repeated through the generations
- To die standing, if it comes to that
- To protect those who cannot afford enemies
- Because my family died unarmed, and I would not
- The master foresaw something dangerous in me and cultivated it
- Because one has to stand firm where others stepped away
- To repay the life-debt incurred
Neutral
- To survive exile & dishonor
- To earn a living where no honest work remained
- To end a war that never ended
- The path forward requires clearing it
- I was trained for nothing else all too well
- No law remained to protect us
- Peace failed first
- The world respects the blade when it disregards words
Chaotic
- To end the tyrant no judge would touch
- Mercy without strength is a plea
- The refusal to kneel
- Fate can be resisted, if only ever so briefly
- Once the weapon was taken up, there was no return
- The dead deserve more than hollow silence
- To meet violence as equals
- To avenge the wrongs that could not be bought off
